Yes, there are a few contraindications that will prevent you from receiving a microcurrent facial treatment.

·         Pregnancy

·         Pacemaker

·         Metal Implants

·         Epilepsy

·         Active cancer.  Because microcurrent increases circulation and lymphatic drainage, it is advised not to receive a treatment so as not to potentially spread the disease throughout one’s system.

·         Certain skin conditions, such as:  psoriasis, eczema, cold sores, open wounds, and active acne.  Because the skin is sensitive and can be “open” during these conditions, you will more than likely feel discomfort during treatment as the current is highly conductive to open wounds.

·         Any contagious disease.

The actual microcurrent treatment takes 45 minutes.  Due to pre- and post-treatment skin cleansing and massage, plan on being with your technician for about 60 minutes.

Your skin will be cleansed and toned and a hydrating conducting support cream will be massaged into your face, neck and décolleté.  During your BioSonic Facial your technician will glide specifically designed wands through three finely tuned specific phases: circulation, sculpting/lifting, and setting phases.  Once these phases are complete, your technician will perform a final massage to incorporate any remaining support cream.

Because a microcurrent treatment is very stimulating to the skin, muscles and underlying tissue, we recommend you wait at least 72 hours before your next BioSonic Facial and no longer than a week.  This will ensure you keep the benefits of the first treatment working to your final anti-aging goals.

We recommend that you do not use any ‘oil’ based products on your face for at least 24 hours.  Oil based products can cause a barrier and does not allow for full conductivity for the best treatment and results possible.

Within two hours of your treatment, it is advised to drink 8 – 16 ounces of water.  This will better hydrate your skin to achieve better results because hydrated skin allows for better conductivity of the microcurrent.

To help ‘flush’ toxins and impurities from the body that has been stimulated from the treatment, it is recommended that you drink at least eight ounces of water immediately after the treatment.

Unless you have to reapply your makeup after the treatment, we recommend you leave the electrically charged nourishing support cream on for at least two hours before you wash your face. 

It is completely safe to receive a BioSonic Facial while having Botox or fillers; however, you must wait for 30 days after receiving Botox or any fillers before receiving a microcurrent treatment.

We have found over the years that clients who have used Botox and/or fillers begin to use less and less because microcurrent is re-educating the muscles and stimulating collagen and elastin to firm, tone and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. 

Yes, you can.  However, for best results we recommend you remove any makeup (except mascara) so the light can penetrate your skin deeper to give you maximum results.

After your very first treatment, you will begin to experience cellular benefits and with every treatment thereafter.  Health benefits such as; increased blood circulation, increased production of collagen, enhanced ATP production making your skin healthier with a more youthful appearance.

However, to see results like reduction of wrinkles, tightening of the skin and overall better skin tone (some see it sooner and some longer), on average it takes 6-8 weeks to start seeing visible results.

No, you don’t it is safe.  In fact, there are a lot of published clinical studies that explain and demonstrate red and near-infrared light is very beneficial for your eyes.  However, for some people that are light sensitive, it can be very bright and uncomfortable for them while under the lights, so it is your as to wear eyewear.

On the other hand, if you are getting an LED Facial Treatment with Blue light, then YES you will need to wear eyewear because blue light is not beneficial for your eyes.

Without getting too technical and to lengthy; the cells in your skin, when they begin to absorb the red light, are essentially given an energy boost.  Light is a lot like nutritious foods which are broken down into different vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

Our LED Facial Treatment is safe enough to use every day, which I know this is not very practical.  We recommend you do the treatments at least once to three times per week for the first 6-8 weeks.  This will keep cells stimulated for healthier skin and in achieving your desired results.  Then maintaining results is easy with at least one to four treatments per month.
